How to create bounds of the workspace

In the BASIC SETTINGS you can define your space which is meshed later and where the calculation is performed. Adapt the bounds to the part by click onto the face and drag them. (The bounding box maybe altered later if required to enable the design of the casting system.)

For sand casting it is a good choice to select the overall dimensions of the drag and cope mold half. When you open the EDITOR TOOLBAR at the bottom of the screen, bounds can be introduced here also by click onto BOUNDS .

The default is set to 200 x 200 x 200 mm. It is easily adapted according to the loaded geometry (which needs to be instentiated before) by click onto “Update Dimensions” button in the BASIC SETTINGS MENU. The default of the “Margin” is set to 10%. You may adjust the Workspace dimensions (e.g. mold size) by

  1. entering the data into the table “Mold Bounds”,
  2. changing the “Margin” value and click again to “Update Deminesions” or
  3. click and drag the Workspace faces.

A “Margin” set to 0% shows the bounding box of the loaded geometry.
