A minimal example for setting up a diffusive modulus computation

Start a new project

Begin a new project by selecting the diffusive modulus template tile.

Import model data

Open the management panel for models.

Click on the Import-button to show the open file dialog.

Select the files to be imported and confirm the choice by pressing the Open-button.

When the import task is finished, models of the imported geometry should appear in the model list.

Instantiate the import models in the casting system layout

Select the import models to be instantiated in the casting system layout.

Instantiate the models by pressing the Instantiate-button. This should open the panel for managing the casting system layout.

The layout panel should display origin entries for every instantiated import model.

Specify the instance types of the instantiated models

Select an origin to designate it for instance type assignment (after instantiating a model, its corresponding origin may already be selected).

Select the Instances-entry in the layout toolbar.

Choose the instance type that is to be assigned to the selected origins.

After assigning the chosen instance type, the selected origins should display its glyph and the color of the associated domain.

All origins need to be assigned an instance type to proceed.

Specify the mold bounds

Open the basic settings panel.

Press the “Update Dimensions”-button to fit the mold bounds to the instantiated geometry.

Update the design discretization

Open the discretization panel.

Choose a discretization resolution preset.

Press the “Update”-button to update the design discretization.

Start the modulus computation

Open the analysis panel.

Press the Update-button of the diffusive modulus solution. A thickness computation task should be started prior to modulus computation if it hasn't been computed already.

When the computation task of the modulus solution has finished, the modulus field should be displayed projected on the model geometry.
