Deployment Process

Windows Installation Package

Visiometa is distributed in the form of an installation package for Windows (commonly known as MSI file). Initial installation and software updates are provided in the same way by self-contained installation packages.
Updates are released monthly and can be optionally installed by the licensee at any time. For security and compliance reasons, we deliberately do not set up an automatic maintenance service.

Download and Checksum

After signing the license agreement, you will receive a product link in the form https://www.visiometa.com/files/products/installer.msi that can be used to download the installer.
Before running the installer, make sure that the download has completed. You can check the correctness and authenticity of the file by comparing the SHA256 hash codes.

Security and Digital Signatures

Download links and hash codes for the installation packages are sent to the responsible administrator via their preferred means of communication.

The installer itself and all executable software components it contains are digitally signed through Microsoft Authenticode.

A correctly downloaded product installer will not cause any warnings or restrictions from the Microsoft SmartScreen Filter or Windows Defender.

Setup Wizard

Executing the MSI installer on the target machine will start the setup wizard for the downloaded version.

The installer always performs a global machine installation. This behavior can currently not be changed.

The installation path for all binary files is selected automatically to match the Windows default location.

Installation Type

For new users, we recommend the complete installation. In addition to the main binary files of the product, it also contains various sample projects, templates and script plug-ins that may be helpful for learning.

The custom installation type gives more advanced users the ability to select or unselect optional product features and resources.

GPU Settings

Visiometa uses the most advanced graphics technology available to achieve the best possible visual quality, rendering performance and computing power.

To optimize battery life, many laptop computers contain an integrated graphics adapter along with a faster dedicated graphics card for more demanding graphical tasks.

When working with Visiometa, it is crucial that the software has access to the high-performance GPU. However, this must be set manually on some devices.

1. Download and install the latest driver for your graphics card from the NVIDIA website: https://www.nvidia.com download/index.aspx (Note: We recommend selecting the Studio Driver because it contains less bloatware)

→ The following steps are only required for laptops or computers with hybrid graphics.

2. Right-click the desktop and choose NVIDIA Control Panel from the context menu.

3. Click Manage 3D Settings on the left and go to the Global Settings tab if you want to your configuration to affect all applications. If you want to change the settings for Visiometa only, go to the Program Settings tab and find Visiometa.View.exe in the program list.

4. The High-performance NVIDIA processor must be selected as the preferred graphics processor. Then click Apply (you might need to scroll down the window to see this button). Your system is now configured to use your dedicated graphics card for Visiometa.
