=====How to do a draft angle analysis===== The draft angle analysis {{:glyphs:menumold.png?30|}} of a 3d-model requires: - the CAD data import into MODELS MENU or internally created CAD data using the CSG functionality, - the selection of its material in the DOMAIN FEATURE and - the creation of its Instance in the LAYOUT FEATURE. ====Positive - on the casting part==== Open the “Demolding” Menu {{:glyphs:menumold.png?30|}} from the MAIN FEATURES. To create a Parting Plane use “Add Parting Plane” {{:glyphs:itemadd.png?30|}} or {{:glyphs:entitycreate.png?30|}} in the DEMOULDING MENU. Each parting plane can have three basic orientations: Horizontal, Vertical and Lateral - see the PARTING PLANE DIALOGUE on the right side of the screen. Select the orientation that best suits to the geometry by {{:glyphs:enumdecrement.png?30|}} or {{:glyphs:enumincrement.png?30|}} in “Orientation” of the PARTING PLANE DIALOGUE. Press {{:glyphs:demoldingplaneangle.png?30|}} in the DEMOLDING MENU and set “Absolute Angles” to “True”. Click onto the “Plane Angle Mode” in the DEMOLDING MENU for the draft angle analysis. Fill in the Optimal, Functional and Marginal Angle in the DEMOLDING MENU, e.g. for permanent mold process: ^Angle^Value^Example^ |Optimal|15°|gating system| |Functional|3°|casting| |Marginal|2°|casting| Faces with angles below “Marginal” appear red. Faces with angles below “Functional” appear yellow. Faces with angles equal or higher then “Functional” appear pale green. Faces with angles equal or higher to “Optimal” appear full green. When you hold the right mouse button and hower of the faces of the part the local draft angle is shown. ====Negative - on the mold==== Open the DEMOLDING MENU {{:glyphs:menumold.png?30|}} in the MAIN FEATURES To create a Parting Plane click to the “Add Parting Plane” {{:glyphs:itemadd.png?30|button}} or {{:glyphs:entitycreate.png?30|}} in the DEMOLDING MENU.
